Who we are?
Empowering the Children of Nyisal for a Brighter Future
Introduction
Nyisal Hostel is a transformative initiative established to provide continued education and cultural preservation for children from Nyisal village, one of Nepal's most remote and underserved communities. This proposal outlines the urgent need for your support to sustain and expand this initiative, which offers these children a pathway to education, empowerment, and the preservation of their unique Tibetan Buddhist heritage.

Background: About Nyisal Village
Nyisal is a small Himalayan village located in the northwestern region of Nepal, on the border with Tibet (China). With a population of approximately 300, the community is deeply rooted in Tibetan Buddhist culture and traditions. The region is geographically isolated, situated beyond the Himalayas, with no road network, requiring 2–3 days of walking from the nearest road access point.
The people of Nyisal live in extremely limited conditions:
- No access to quality health care
- Very limited educational infrastructure
- No electricity or internet
- No economic opportunities outside of traditional farming and cattle herding
The Educational Challenge
Nyisal currently has only one primary school, run jointly by the Nepalese government and the organization HDI (Himalayan Development Initiative). While this provides basic education, children have no access to secondary or higher education within or near the village.
As a result:
- Most children drop out after the primary level
- Early and child marriage is prevalent
- Young people are trapped in generational cycles of poverty and limited exposure
- Loss of indigenous knowledge and the traditional Tibetan language is increasing

Our Initiative: Nyisal Hostel in Kathmandu
To address these challenges, we have established Nyisal Hostel in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. This facility:
- Provides a safe and nurturing environment for children from Nyisal
- Allows them to continue their secondary and higher education in Kathmandu schools
- Preserves and teaches their Tibetan language, culture, and traditions
- Offers exposure to a wider world while grounding them in their identity
Nyisal Hostel is not just a place to stay, but a home and learning center for children without access to education or opportunity.
Why We Need Your Support
Your generous donation will go directly towards:
- Daily food and nutrition for the children
- School fees, uniforms, books, and supplies.
- Cultural and language preservation programs.
- Health care and emotional support services.
- Hostel maintenance and rent.
Your support can change the trajectory of a child’s life, not only lifting them out of poverty but also empowering them to preserve their unique heritage and contribute meaningfully to both their local and national communities.

A Call to Action
We invite you to join hands with us in this journey of hope, education, and cultural preservation. By supporting Nyisal Hostel, you are not only helping children learn and grow, but also helping sustain a precious Himalayan culture at risk of disappearing.
Thank you for considering this heartfelt cause. Together, we can ensure that the children of Nyisal have the future they deserve.
